Visitation
Visiting Fox Lake Correctional Institution takes some planning, but the rules are straightforward. Anyone 16 or older must show a valid photo ID—state driver's license, passport, DOT ID, military ID, or tribal photo ID all work. Schedule both in-person and video visits through ICSolutions between 48 hours and 14 days ahead. Missed visits or refusals still count toward your weekly total. In-person visits run in three daily blocks: 10:15am–1:15pm, 1:55pm–4:55pm, and 5:30pm–8:30pm. Video visits use the same window on a first-come, first-served basis. Each person in custody can have up to three in-person visits per week (only one on a weekend), with up to six approved visitors per visit—at least one must be an adult. Expect security screening and clothing restrictions. Some baby items and limited medications may be allowed with supervisor approval, and quarter-operated lobby lockers are available for prohibited items.

Fox Lake Correctional Institution is transitioning to the Wisconsin DOC's statewide ICSolutions platform for video visits. During the rollout, each person in DOC care gets one free video visit per week. After that, additional 25–26 minute visits cost about $2.50 each, with monthly limits on paid visits. Pay with a valid Mastercard or Visa credit/debit card—other card types won't work. You can also mail cash-equivalent payments (Western Union, cashier's check, or money order) to IC Solutions at 2200 Danbury Street, San Antonio, TX 78217. Recording video visits isn't allowed, and only people scheduled on the same device can be seen or heard. To message or send photos on an ICS tablet, you'll need a Getting Out (GTL) account. Don't close your CorrLinks account yet—messages sent after a site's ICS go-live won't be received or refunded.

All non-privileged personal mail for Fox Lake Correctional Institution goes through TextBehind. Send it to P.O. Box 189, Phoenix, MD, and include your return information plus the incarcerated person's full name and DOC number. TextBehind scans or copies the mail and delivers digital images—color copies are available, but photos must meet specific format requirements, and certain cards and photobooks aren't accepted. Legal or medical mail clearly marked as such won't be opened by TextBehind. Those items go directly to the institution under legal-mail procedures. Original items are kept briefly, then shredded by a certified third-party service 30 days after scanning. Include complete names, return address, facility name, and DOC number to avoid delays.
