Visitation

How to Visit Facility

Visiting at Gila County Jail works differently than you might expect. All visits are electronic through the GettingOut platform, not face-to-face in a visiting room.

Every visit happens through the GettingOut platform. There's no in-person option. You can connect from home on your own device or use the on-site stations at the Globe facility.

Before you can visit, you need to create a GettingOut visitation account and get it verified. Verification requires both a phone number and an email address, so have those ready when you set up your account.

Not everyone is immediately eligible for visits. Your person must have had their initial appearance before a Judge or Magistrate first.

Visitation is closed on Mondays. Tuesday through Sunday, visits run in three daily blocks: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. One exception: if Monday is a holiday, the following Tuesday is also closed for visits.

Note: If you cannot visit from home, the Globe facility has on-site GettingOut stations you can use.

A few details are worth confirming before your first visit: the exact steps inside GettingOut to schedule or start a call, any ID requirements for using on-site stations, whether photos or recordings are allowed during electronic visits, and current prices for paid visits beyond the weekly free time. These can change, so check right before you go.

Steps to Follow

  • Create a GettingOut visitation account.
  • Verify your account before trying to visit (you will need a phone number and an email address).
  • Plan to visit electronically (from home) or use the electronic visit stations at the facility instead of expecting an in-person visit.
  1. Pick a day the jail is open for visits. Monday is closed, and there are no visits on a Tuesday that follows a Monday holiday.
  2. Choose a time within the daily visit blocks. The available blocks are 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  3. Track free vs. paid visit time. Eligible inmates are offered one hour of free visits per week, and any additional visits are charged through the GettingOut app.
  1. Confirm they have had their initial appearance. Visitation only becomes available after the inmate’s initial appearance before a Judge or Magistrate.
  2. Try scheduling only after eligibility starts. If you cannot see the person as available for visits, eligibility timing is one of the first things to double-check.

What to Verify

  • Confirm you still must verify your GettingOut account before visiting.
  • Confirm what phone number and email address requirements apply for verification (and whether anything else is required).

Double-check the schedule close to the day you want to visit. The posted hours are Monday closed, Tuesday through Sunday in three blocks (9:30 to 11:30 a.m., 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.), with no visits on a Tuesday after a Monday holiday. Even with set hours, exceptions pop up. Verifying before you plan your day can save you a wasted trip or a missed call.

Ask how the weekly free hour works and how to tell when it's been used up. Eligible inmates get one hour of free visits per week. Additional visits are charged through the GettingOut app, so you'll want to understand what counts toward free time and what triggers charges.

Planning to use the on-site option? Confirm the details for the GettingOut stations at the Globe facility before you go. Check when they're available, how early you should arrive, and whether there are any extra steps for check-in or access.

  • Confirm the inmate has completed their initial appearance before a Judge or Magistrate.
  • If you are unsure, ask where to verify eligibility timing before you try to schedule a visit.
