How to Schedule Your First Visit at Grant County Detention Center (and what to know during COVID)
Scheduling a visit at Grant County Detention Center normally takes just a phone call and a little planning. The catch right now: COVID has suspended onsite visitation, so most families are using the paid remote option instead.
COVID update: Grant County Detention Center has suspended all onsite visitations until further notice due to COVID, following CDC and government guidance.
Even with onsite visits paused, inmates can still connect with visitors through Inmate Sales for a fee. If you're trying to stay in touch while the suspension is in place, that paid option is your main alternative.
Under normal conditions, each inmate gets at least one free visit per week. At Grant County Detention Center, that means one 20-minute visit, free of charge.
- ✓ Use Inmate Sales if you need a visit option that is not the free weekly onsite visit (this service is offered for a fee).

- ✓ Access Inmate Sales through the button on the facility’s visitation page, or call (866) 340-3779 for help with the service.

- Call at least 24 hours ahead: Appointments must be scheduled a minimum of 24 hours in advance, so do not wait until the day you want to visit.
When visitation is running normally, the facility is open for visits every day except Wednesdays, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Keep those days and hours in mind when you call to book your slot.
