Green Haven Visit Checklist: What to Know Before Your First Visit
Your first visit to Green Haven goes smoother when you know the entry point, timing rules, and a few schedule quirks that catch people off guard. This checklist will help you plan your day and avoid getting turned away at the door.
You'll enter through the side entrance (the handicap entrance) into Visitor Processing. Screening starts immediately, so build extra time into your arrival.
Green Haven allows visits on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. If you're working around a job or school schedule, start by picking one of those days - then double-check the details for your specific week.
Visiting hours run 7:30AM to 2:30PM. Arriving early is smart - you'll have more cushion for lines and processing.
You must arrive by 1:30PM. Even though visits run until 2:30PM, showing up after 1:30PM can cost you the visit entirely.
Note: When visitor volume is high, visit length may be capped. A later arrival can mean less time together even if you're within the day's hours.
Around 10:30AM, visitor processing pauses for the facility count. Things resume once the count clears. If the line stalls around that time, don't panic - it's normal.
Each visit allows up to three visitors, plus one child age five or under. That child must sit on an adult's lap.
Visits are limited to one per day and two per week. If you're traveling from far away or coordinating with multiple family members, plan carefully so you don't accidentally exceed the limit.
Weekend visits rotate by last name - A–L and M–Z alternate based on an attached schedule. Before booking travel, confirm it's your group's weekend.
