Visiting with Kids at Green River Correctional Complex: Rules Every Parent Should Know

Every visitor at Green River must be on the inmate's approved visiting list before a visit can happen - kids included. Anyone under 18 needs to be approved and added to the list, and they must come with a parent or legal guardian.

Planning note: In-person visitation is Saturdays only, with visiting hours from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Children must stay with an adult throughout the visit and remain under that adult's control. If a child's behavior disrupts others, staff can end the visit early. And the approval rule still applies: minors under 18 can only visit if they're on the inmate's approved list.

Time cutoff: For Saturday visitation, visitors must arrive before 11:30 am to be allowed entry.

If the adult bringing the child is an immediate family member but not the parent or legal guardian, they'll need written permission from the parent or guardian. Green River requires this consent to be written, signed, and notarized.

Notarized consent doesn't replace the normal approval process. Both the child and the accompanying adult still need to be on the inmate's approved visiting list. A visiting information form must also be completed and sent to the Warden's office before any visit is allowed.
