Greene Corrections Facility, NC

Greene Correctional offers both video visits through an official app and in-person visitation. All face-to-face visits require an appointment—call or email the prison to schedule. Before visiting in person, your visitor application must be approved by the facility. If you're 16 or older, attach an approved photo ID to your application. Each offender can have up to 18 approved visitors total, and visits are normally limited to one session per week (up to two hours) with a maximum of three visitors per session. Some custody statuses restrict visits to non-contact only. Expect screening: you'll pass through a metal detector and may be searched. Cell phones and other electronics are prohibited. Shirts and shoes are required, and Bermuda-length shorts are allowed if they're no more than three inches above the kneecap.

Greene Corrections Facility contracts with ViaPath/GTL for inmate tablet services. For phone calls, you'll manage prepaid calling through ViaPath's ConnectNetwork portal—create an account, add funds, and check your balance there. AdvancePay is a common option: you fund a specific phone number, and when the offender calls that number, the cost comes out of your balance. Set up AdvancePay or add funds through ConnectNetwork or by calling the AdvancePay toll-free number. Keep in mind that all offender calls are limited to 15 minutes. Incarcerated people can also purchase tablet entertainment minutes from the prison canteen using their trust account funds.

Greene Corrections Facility uses TextBehind for non-legal personal mail. Address letters to TextBehind's Maryland mail-scan service at P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD 21131—not the prison's street address. If you skip the TextBehind format, your mail gets returned. TextBehind opens and scans letters, cards, photos, and artwork, then sends digital images to the offender's tablet. Originals are only kept briefly. Want them back? Request a return within 30 days through TextBehind and pay the $2.50 per-letter fee. TextBehind returns all packages and won't process publications. Approved books or course materials must be pre-approved and sent directly from the vendor, school, or religious institution to the facility.

Greene Corrections Facility only allows approved visitors to deposit funds to an offender's trust/commissary account—confirm you're approved before sending money. For mailed deposits, use a money order payable to TouchPay and include the required deposit slip. Send it to TouchPay Holdings, LLC, PO Box 174, Houston, TX 77001-0174. Using a vendor transfer? If you use ConnectNetwork, keep your account active—accounts are subject to forfeiture after 180 consecutive days of inactivity unless governed by law or contract. For refunds, call 866-516-0115.
