Picking Up Someone After Hours at Greene County Jail: Lobby rules and the taxi voucher program

At Greene County Jail, the lobby is closed after-hours. That means you can’t wait inside the lobby for someone to be released. If you’re picking someone up late, plan to wait outside until the person is escorted from the premises.

What if no one can pick them up? If the person being released tries the free lobby phone but can't reach anyone for a ride, the Greene County Sheriff's Office may provide a taxi voucher. There's a catch: they must have $20.00 or less on their inmate debit card. This option is specifically for people leaving with very limited funds and no way to get home.
