How to Register as a Visitor at the Western Massachusetts Women’s Correctional Center (WCC)
WCC requires visitor registration and approval before you can step inside the secure perimeter. Handle the forms ahead of time and confirm your status by phone, and you won't risk getting turned away at the lobby.
You can't just show up at the Western Massachusetts Women's Correctional Center (WCC). Everyone age 18 and over must complete an initial Visiting Registration Form (online or in person) before entering the secure perimeter. Fill it out carefully. Your ability to visit depends on it.
Warning: These forms are treated as legal documents. Leaving information out or providing false information can get you denied entry and cost you visiting privileges.
Start with the initial Visiting Registration Form. If you're 18 or older, this step is required (online or in person) before you can enter WCC's secure perimeter. Don't wait until the day of your visit. Registration and approval determine whether you'll be allowed in, so get this done early.
Next, complete the Request to Visit Form. This is a separate requirement on top of the initial registration form. You'll need to present the completed Request to Visit Form to the Public Lobby Officer, so bring it with you and have it ready at check-in.
Before you make the trip, confirm you've been approved. Call (413) 730-6800 to check whether your visiting privileges were approved or denied. One quick phone call can save you a wasted drive.

ID reminder: Bring an approved photo ID that is current/valid (or an acceptable temporary driver’s license). If you are using a school photo ID, you also need a birth certificate.
If your background could affect approval (a prior incarceration or a recent conviction, for example), don't guess. Complete the Request to Visit Form, bring it to the Public Lobby as required, and call to confirm your approval status before you go. Better to know where you stand ahead of time.

- Ask what you need to bring to the lobby - Make sure you have the completed Request to Visit Form ready to present to the Public Lobby Officer.
- If you are denied, clarify what to fix - Confirm whether you need to correct information and re-submit the required forms before trying to visit again.
