How to Visit Facility
In-person visits usually go smoothly if you handle the paperwork and confirm the schedule before you travel. Follow the steps below, then double-check any details that tend to change.
At the Women's Correctional Center, visitors 18 and older must complete two forms before entering the secure perimeter: an initial registration Visiting Form (submitted online or in person) and a Request to Visit Form. These are legal documents, so be accurate. Providing false information can get you denied entry and cost you visiting privileges.
Non-contact visits: All in-person visits at the Women's Correctional Center are non-contact. No physical contact is allowed at any point during the visit.
Visiting someone at the Western Massachusetts Recovery & Wellness Center (WMRWC) works differently than at other HCSO facilities. Residents sign up visitors through their assigned counselor, so your loved one will need to coordinate the visit on their end before you show up.

- ✓ Complete the initial registration Visiting Form (online or in person) and the Request to Visit Form before entering the secure perimeter (required for visitors 18+ at the Women’s Correctional Center).
- ✓ Plan for a non-contact visit (no physical contact) for in-person visits at the Women’s Correctional Center.
- ✓ For WMRWC, coordinate visitor sign-up through the resident’s assigned counselor.
- ✓ If you are visiting at WMRWC, use the published non-contact, in-person time blocks: Monday through Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.; Friday 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Before heading to the Women's Correctional Center, confirm the timing and submission details for both the Visiting Form and the Request to Visit Form. Ask about deadlines, what type of ID you need, and whether online submission is currently accepted. You don't want to travel all that way only to get turned away at the secure perimeter.
"Non-contact" can look different depending on the facility. Check what the setup actually looks like at the Women's Correctional Center, and ask whether there are any exceptions or special visit types that follow different rules.
Planning a trip to WMRWC? Re-check the visiting hour blocks right before you travel. The listed schedule includes weekday and weekend sessions, but hours can shift around holidays or due to operational needs. Your safest bet is the facility's official postings or their phone line.
Since WMRWC has residents sign up visitors through their assigned counselor, find out exactly how that process works and how far in advance it needs to happen. Also worth asking: does any other location you plan to visit use the same counselor-based sign-up? This process is described as different from other HCSO facilities.
Before you leave home: Policies can change, and not every detail is covered here. Call the facility to confirm current requirements for ID, prohibited items, arrival and check-in timing, and any temporary security or health-related restrictions.
