Your First Video Visit at Hancock County Justice Center: How to Create an Account, Schedule, and Prepare

Visits at Hancock County Justice Center are non-contact - you'll talk through a video monitor, whether you're in the lobby or connecting from home.

First, you'll need an approved account. Head to videovisitanywhere.com and click

Use your legal name when you fill out your account details. After you submit your information, you’ll get an approval decision by email within 24 hours - so don’t wait until the last minute if you’re trying to visit soon.

Photo tip: Approval depends on submitting a clear photograph that matches the “How do I get approved” instructions in the system. If you’re disapproved because the photo wasn’t acceptable, fix the issue, take a corrected clear photo, and resubmit for review.

Video visits are appointment-only. Schedule through videovisitanywhere.com up to 21 days ahead, but book at least 24 hours before your visit time - same-day visits aren't available.

  • On-site lobby video visitation hours (Mon–Sun): 9:00–11:20 AM; 12:20–4:20 PM; 5:20–10:45 PM
  • Off-site video visitation hours (Mon–Sun): 9:00–11:20 AM; 12:20–4:20 PM

Think through your week before confirming. You can't schedule both an on-site lobby visit and an off-site video visit on the same day. If you're using the lobby, you're also limited to two 20-minute visits per week.

Know the cancellation rules: Cancel at least 24 hours before your visit time or you'll be charged. For off-site visits, there are no refunds if you miss your scheduled session.

  1. Arrive 15 minutes early - The Justice Center recommends getting there fifteen minutes before your on-site lobby appointment so you have time to prepare.
  2. Know that late arrivals don’t get extra time - If you show up late, your appointment time is still held, but it will not be extended past the scheduled end.
  3. Make sure your account details match your ID - Your VideoVisitAnywhere account must be in your legal name, and your approval depends on submitting a clear photograph with the required information.

Assume you're being watched. All video visits are monitored and may be recorded. Don't use cameras or recording devices - violations can get your visitation privileges revoked.

"Visit" here means talking through a video screen - not sitting face-to-face. You'll be on camera for the length of your scheduled session.

Keep things appropriate. Visits are monitored and may be recorded. Recording devices aren't allowed, and breaking the rules can end your visitation privileges.
