  • Send letters in a plain envelope with a regular stamp.
  • Do not send cash or money orders.
  • Keep the contents limited to a letter and religious materials; anything else will be removed and added to the inmate’s property.

Greeting cards get photocopied. The inmate receives the copy, and the original goes into their property.

  1. Have the inmate request package approval - the inmate must submit a request to receive packages.
  2. Wait for approval before anything is shipped - packages that arrive without approval will be refused and returned to the sender.

Note: Approval doesn’t mean “anything goes.” Packages still have to contain only items from the Justice Center’s approved list.

The Justice Center publishes separate approved-items lists for female and male inmates. Before buying or sending anything, check the correct list for your inmate - allowed clothing and personal items are spelled out there.

  • Send only items that appear on the facility’s approved-items list.
  • Check the correct list (female vs. male) before you send clothing or personal items.

Dropping off approved items? Timing matters. Drop-offs are only accepted Mondays from 6 pm to 7 pm, Thursdays from 6 pm to 7 pm, and Saturdays from 8 am to 9 am.
