How to Schedule and Prepare for Your First Video Visit at Highland County Jail (OH)
Setting up your first video visit is straightforward when you tackle it in the right order. Highland County Jail is video-only—no in-person visits—so you'll need to create an ICSolutions account, test the app, and schedule at least a day ahead.
Highland County Jail uses The Visitor™ video visitation system - there are no traditional face-to-face visits. Your loved one stays in their housing unit while you connect from anywhere with an internet connection.
Heads up: All visits are video-only and recorded. Treat the conversation like it's being monitored and keep things appropriate.
Before you can schedule anything, sign up through ICSolutions. Creating an account is just the first step - you also need to register for visitation. That's where you select the inmate you want to visit and define your relationship to them. Once registration is complete, you'll have access to the scheduling tools inside ICSolutions.
- ✓ Create your ICSolutions account
- ✓ Verify your account (follow the prompts ICSolutions provides)
- ✓ Add your visitor information in your profile
- ✓ Register for visitation by selecting the inmate you want to visit and defining your relationship
- ✓ Wait until your registration is accepted/active before trying to schedule
Highland County requires you to download and test the visitation app before you can schedule a visit. You can use a Windows computer or an Android or iOS device (iPhone or iPad). Whichever you choose, make sure it has a camera, a speaker, and a solid internet connection.
- Choose the device you’ll use - Use a Windows computer, Android phone/tablet, or an iPhone/iPad.
- Download/open the visitation application - Install the visitation app on your device (or use the computer option provided through the system).
- Allow camera and microphone access - If your device asks for permissions, approve them so audio and video can work.
- Run the required test - Complete the test in the application to confirm you’re set up.
- Confirm your basics - Make sure you can see video and hear sound through your camera and speaker before you try to schedule.
Tip: Test on the exact device you'll use for the visit. Unreliable internet? Fix that first - otherwise you'll be scrambling when your visit time starts.
Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Last-minute bookings won't work, so plan ahead - especially if you're coordinating around work or school.
Once your account is set up, your visitation registration is complete, and you've tested the app, you can schedule through ICSolutions. If something isn't working - can't see available times, or the system won't let you book - double-check that you registered for the correct inmate and finished the required app test.
