Adult visitors need two forms of ID. One must be a current, state-issued photo ID. Show up with only one - or with an expired photo ID - and your visit can be delayed or denied at the door.

You'll also need to provide vehicle information when you check in. Have your license plate number and vehicle details ready so you're not scrambling at the last minute.

Brought something that can't go into the Visiting Room? Small lockers in the Visiting Center let you store personal items at no charge - no need to trek back to your car.

Once you lock up your belongings, you can carry the key into the facility. Just remember: you're responsible for whatever you store.

What to Bring (and What to Leave Home) for Visiting Day at Hill Correctional Center

Dress appropriately for a prison environment. Clothing deemed inappropriate means no visit - so take a minute to choose something conservative before you leave home.

  • Sexually explicit clothing
  • Clothing that’s offensive
  • Clothing that’s degrading

One rule to know: dresses, shorts, and skirts must reach the knee. When in doubt, go longer. You'll spend your time visiting instead of getting turned away at the entrance.

Note: All persons, vehicles, and items on State property are subject to search. Pack with that in mind before you head in.
