Money deposited for an inmate goes into their individual account. From there, it can be used for commissary purchases and jail-incurred expenses - things like the initial per diem fee, medical care, or property damage charges.

Hillsborough County Jail uses TouchPay for deposits. This is one of the main ways families and friends add money from home.

You can also deposit by phone through TouchPay at 1-866-232-1899. Just know that TouchPay charges a convenience fee, so you'll pay more than the deposit amount itself.

If you’re depositing in person, kiosks for funding inmate accounts are located in the front lobbies of the Orient Road and Falkenburg Road jails.

Here's something to keep in mind: before any deposit can be used for commissary, the jail applies it to outstanding debts first. This includes fees from previous incarcerations. Once those debts are cleared, the remaining balance becomes available for canteen purchases.
