How to Send Mail to Someone at Hillsborough County Jail (after Oct 28, 2025)
Starting October 28, 2025, all personal mail for someone at Hillsborough County Jail must go to a centralized Mail Processing Center, not to the jail itself. Address your envelope like this: (Inmate Name) (Inmate Booking Number) c/o Mail Processing Center PO BOX 9115 Seminole, FL 33775-9115
Include the inmate's full name and booking number on the envelope exactly as shown above. The booking number is critical. It's how staff match your letter to the right person, especially when multiple people share similar names or someone has been booked more than once. Double-check the booking number before you send anything. Even a small mistake can delay delivery or prevent your letter from getting there at all.
If you send personal mail to any Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office facility instead of the Mail Processing Center, it will be returned to you. That includes anything addressed directly to the jail building. Before dropping a letter in the mailbox, confirm you're using the Mail Processing Center address and that the envelope has the inmate's name and booking number. One extra minute of checking can save you days of waiting on returned mail.
Legal and privileged mail works differently. It goes directly to the specific facility where the inmate is housed, and it's processed on-site. Hillsborough County uses these facility addresses for legal and privileged mail: Falkenburg Road Jail 520 N. Falkenburg Road Tampa, Florida 33619 Orient Road Jail 1201 N. Orient Road Tampa, Fl 33619
Note: Legal and privileged mail is handled at the facility where the inmate is housed. If your mail doesn't meet the criteria for legal or privileged correspondence, the facility will return it to you.
Hillsborough County Jail does not allow inmates to receive packages or periodicals. This includes magazines, newspapers, and similar items.
If you want to send more than a letter, there are still options. Inmates can send and receive electronic messages using their electronic tablet, including photograph messages.
Photos are digital-only. Inmates can receive photograph messages through the electronic messaging system on their electronic tablet. If you're used to printing pictures and mailing them, plan on switching to the tablet photo-message option after the October 28, 2025 change.
Note: Photograph messages that violate incoming content policies will be rejected without refund.
