Hilltop Unit uses the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler. You'll need to create your own visitor account since staff can't set one up for you (though they can help update your information once your account exists). If your Relationship Request shows "Relation Requests Pending Approval," you won't be able to schedule a visit until TDCJ staff approve it. Regular on-site visits last two hours, starting when both you and the inmate are present. During contact visits, physical contact is limited to one embrace and one kiss at the beginning and one at the end. Holding hands is allowed only with hands on top of the table where staff can see. Visits can be restricted or canceled for security, lockdowns, or health reasons.

Hilltop Unit communication options run through the state's Inmate Technology program and third-party vendors, covering phone calls, video visits, e-messaging, and tablet services. The facility's visitation scheduler lists four visit types, including Regular, Contact, and Video/Tablet. Note that Video/Tablet in the scheduler is separate from the Securus remote video program. Securus remote video visits run 60 minutes, cost $10.00, and inmates are limited to one per month. Forgot your scheduler password? Use the Forgot Password or Reset Password option, and the system will email reset instructions after you enter your email. To send money to an inmate at Hilltop Unit, you must be approved first. Only people on the inmate's Approved Visitor list or Inmate Telephone List can make deposits, so ask your loved one to add you before you try. You can deposit through approved online vendors, kiosks, or by mailing a money order or cashier's check. Don't send cash or personal checks, and follow the centralized deposit instructions exactly so your payment gets credited correctly. Expect fees for online and kiosk options: eCommDirect charges $3.75 per purchase, plus a $2.50 fee and 2.25% of the deposit amount. The Inmate Trust Fund office can confirm receipt but usually won't share balances or transaction details with third parties.
