What to Do When the 'Schedule Visit' Button Doesn't Appear for Your Hilltop Unit Inmate

Another common reason: your visitor relationship hasn't been approved yet. The scheduler won't show you as eligible until unit staff verify and approve your Visitor/Inmate relationship. Once that's done, the scheduling option should appear.

Check Profile

• ✓ Make sure you submitted a Relationship Request for this inmate through the scheduler (this is the step that sends your request to the inmate’s unit for verification).
• ✓ Check whether the inmate shows under “Relation Requests Pending Approval” (still waiting on unit staff).
• ✓ Look for the inmate under “Verified Inmate Relations” (this means the relationship has been approved by unit staff).
• ✓ If the request is still pending, wait for approval - only after it moves to “Verified Inmate Relations” may the “Schedule Visit” button become available by their name.

1. Call the inmate’s unit of assignment - If the scheduler shows a blank button or “Call Unit” for your Hilltop Unit inmate, phone scheduling is the intended next step.
2. Have the basics ready - Be prepared with the inmate’s TDCJ number and your name (the name on your visitor profile).
3. Ask how to get on the visit roster - Tell staff the scheduler is showing “Call Unit” or no scheduling button, and ask them to place the visit on the roster or explain the unit’s scheduling procedure.

If your relationship shows as verified but you still can't schedule, check the message where the button should be. When an inmate's visitation privileges have been removed, the scheduler may display
