Video visits are an option for staying connected - just make sure the incarcerated person is eligible and you've completed the required setup through Securus.

Securus remote video visits run 60 minutes and cost $10.00 per session. Knowing this upfront helps you plan who will join, where you'll take the call, and how to budget - especially if you're coordinating with other family members.

In TDCJ's Online Visitation Scheduler, look for the visit type labeled

TDCJ's visitation rules describe remote video visits as live video sessions scheduled through the vendor's website. Eligible inmates can have one remote video visit per month, lasting up to 60 minutes. If you're not seeing availability, this monthly limit could be why - so plan ahead and coordinate with anyone else who might want to schedule time.

  1. Get the inmate’s TDCJ ID number - you’ll need it during enrollment to link your phone number to the person who will be calling you.
  2. Register your telephone number online - before you can receive calls from a TDCJ inmate, your number must be enrolled through the online registration process.
