Visitor Application Checklist: What to Gather Before Applying to Visit at Hyde CI

The incarcerated person has to request the blank visitor application forms from the facility. Once you receive a form, fill it out completely and send it back as directed. Your application must be approved by facility staff before any visit can happen.

If you're 16 or older, you'll need to attach a copy of one approved picture ID to your visitor application. Not sure if your ID qualifies? Confirm acceptable ID types with the facility before submitting. That quick check can prevent your application from getting held up.

For children under 16, include a copy of the minor's birth certificate with the visitor application. Hyde CI requires this attachment for minors, so gather it before you start the paperwork.

Hyde CI limits each incarcerated person to 18 approved visitors. Once someone reaches that limit, they can't adjust their visitation list until the next open enrollment period. If your loved one is close to the maximum, talk through who should apply now versus who may need to wait.

2. Count six months out - Open enrollment for visitation happens every six months based on that admission date.
3. Plan list changes for that window - If the visitor list is already at 18 approved people, changes have to wait until open enrollment.
