How to Schedule a Free On‑Site Video Visit at Jackson County Detention Center
On-site visits at Jackson County Detention Center are video-only, and they're free. Each inmate gets one free on-site video visit per week, capped at 20 minutes. You schedule the appointment at the kiosk in the front lobby of the jail.
You schedule your free on-site video visit at the kiosk in the front lobby of the jail. There's no way to book it online or by phone ahead of time, so plan on handling everything at that lobby kiosk when you arrive.
Reminder: Your on-site visit appointment is made at the front-lobby kiosk. Give yourself a little extra time so you're not rushed while registering and checking in.
Jackson County limits on-site video visitation to one visit per inmate per week, and each visit is capped at 20 minutes. Plan your group before you arrive. The facility allows up to three visitors total for an on-site visit (any combination of adults and children). If more than three people want to come, you'll need to rotate across different weeks.
Note: Visits are monitored and can be disconnected immediately for rule violations. If that happens, you do not get the lost visitation time back.
On-site video visits are not available on Sundays. Monday mornings are another common scheduling mistake: on-site visits don't start until 12:30 p.m. on Mondays. Keep both of these in mind when planning your trip.

- Try a different time - If the kiosk is busy or acting up, coming back a little later can be the fastest fix.
- Ask for help in the lobby - If you cannot complete scheduling at the kiosk, check with staff in the lobby for next steps.
Tip: Arrive early enough to handle kiosk registration and any hiccups without losing your spot. If the kiosk isn't cooperating, ask lobby staff for help.
