Sending Money to Someone at Jackson County Detention Center: Which Account Is Which

Jackson County Adult Detention Center uses three systems that don't overlap. VendEngine (also called CorrectPay) handles video visitation from home and inmate messaging. NCIC covers phone calls - money there is for phone service only. TouchPay funds commissary, either online or at the kiosk in the ADC lobby.

  • Use VendEngine/CorrectPay for video visits from home and inmate messaging
  • Use NCIC for inmate phone calls only
  • Use TouchPay for commissary deposits (website or ADC lobby kiosk)

VendEngine (VendEngine.com / CorrectPay) powers video visitation from home and inmate messaging at Jackson County. Money you add here goes into the inmate's VendEngine "Tech Account" - and that account covers visitation and messaging only. This matters because it's easy to assume "money on the account" works for everything. Not here. VendEngine funds won't pay for phone calls. They won't cover commissary either. If calls or commissary are your goal, use the right vendor from the start.

Note: Video visits from home are paid and run in 20-minute sessions.

  1. Register with VendEngine/CorrectPay - create your account through the VendEngine site or the CorrectPay app.
  2. Find and select the incarcerated person - link your profile to the correct inmate so payments apply to the right Tech Account.
  3. Add funds for the Tech Account - use those funds for video visits from home and/or inmate messaging (this account is for those services only).

NCIC handles phone service at Jackson County Adult Detention Center. Money added through NCIC pays for phone calls - nothing else. Great if you want to make sure your loved one can call out, but an NCIC payment won't touch commissary or VendEngine messaging and visits.

  1. Go to NCIC to register - set up your account through NCIC.
  2. Locate the correct inmate/phone account - double-check you’re funding the right person before you submit payment.
  3. Add funds for calls - money placed in NCIC is used for phone calls only.

TouchPay funds commissary at Jackson County Adult Detention Center. This account is separate from NCIC phone funding and the VendEngine Tech Account, so a commissary deposit won't pay for calls or messaging. You can add money through the TouchPay website or use the kiosk in the ADC lobby. When people talk about "putting money on the books," this is usually what they mean - but double-check you actually want commissary, not phone or video/messaging.

  • Facility locator number: 239501
  • The inmate’s identification number
  • The inmate’s name
  1. Choose TouchPay - use the TouchPay website or the kiosk in the ADC lobby.
  2. Enter the required identifiers - use facility locator 239501, plus the inmate’s ID number and name.
  3. Complete the deposit - confirm you selected commissary funding (TouchPay) before finalizing.

There's one exception: inmates can use commissary funds (TouchPay) to load their NCIC phone account. So money you deposit for commissary might get shifted by the inmate to cover phone calls. Beyond that, don't expect to move money between vendors yourself. VendEngine/CorrectPay, NCIC, and TouchPay are separate systems. Pick the right place to deposit based on what you're paying for.

Heads up: A TouchPay commissary deposit and an NCIC phone deposit are not the same thing, and VendEngine Tech Account funds are for visits/messaging only. Don’t assume you can transfer funds across vendors after the fact.

Practical Tips

  • Match the payment to the goal: VendEngine/CorrectPay = visits/messaging, NCIC = phone calls, TouchPay = commissary
  • For TouchPay commissary deposits, have facility locator 239501, the inmate ID number, and the inmate name ready
  • Register and fund through the correct vendor system (VendEngine/CorrectPay, NCIC, or TouchPay)
  • Save your confirmation details/receipts after you pay

Not sure which account you're funding? Pause and double-check before you pay - especially when you're stressed and moving fast, since the names can blur together. Save your transaction confirmation. If something looks wrong (wrong vendor, wrong service), sorting it out immediately is far easier than chasing it down days later.
