What to Know Before Your First Visit to Jackson County Detention Center (ADC)

All on-site visits at Jackson County Detention Center (ADC) are video-only - but the good news is they're free. The catch: each inmate gets just one 20-minute visit per week. If someone else is also trying to visit, coordinate ahead of time so you don't lose your slot.

Heads up: On-site video visits are limited to one 20-minute session per inmate per week, and the visit is limited to a maximum of three visitors total (adults and/or children combined).

You'll schedule your visit at the kiosk in the jail's front lobby. Arrive early - especially if it's your first time. Entering your information or waiting in line can eat into your buffer fast.

Tip: Give yourself extra time for the front-lobby kiosk - arriving early helps you avoid missing your appointment window.

Sundays are off-limits for on-site visits. Mondays have a restriction too: no visits before 12:30 p.m. Show up during those blocked times and you won't get in.

Plan ahead: Build your trip around the no-Sunday rule and the Monday-before-12:30 p.m. cutoff so you don’t make a wasted drive.

Dress Code

  • Wear a shirt and shoes
  • If you wear shorts, a dress, or a skirt, make sure it’s knee length
  • Leave caps, hats, and visors at home
  • Avoid bare midriffs
  • Avoid exposed cleavage
  • Don’t wear see-through clothing
  • Don’t wear sleeveless tops
  • Don’t wear strapless tops
  • Don’t wear tank tops

The dress code is enforced. If you're not dressed within the rules, your video visit can be disconnected. Do a quick mirror check before you leave - or before you walk in.

Leave prohibited items in your car. The ADC doesn't offer secure storage for visitors, so anything you can't bring inside needs to stay in your vehicle.

  • Secure any prohibited items in your vehicle before you go inside
  • Keep what you carry in as minimal as possible, since you can’t rely on on-site storage
  • If you bring anything you might be told to remove, be ready to return it to your car

You'll communicate through a video visitation system - there's no in-person contact for on-site visits at the ADC. Expect the session to follow facility rules closely from start to finish.

Reminder: If rules aren’t followed, the visit can be disconnected immediately.
