How to Schedule Your First Visit at Allred Unit (step-by-step)

You'll need to create your own visitor account in the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler. TDCJ staff can't do this for you, so handle the setup before you try to book a date.

  1. Start your account with your email address - In the scheduler, choose the option to create an account and submit a valid email address.
  2. Use the validation email to finish registration - After you submit your email, you’ll receive an email with a 7-digit validation code and a link to complete your account registration.
  3. Double-check the email you’re using - Once an account is created for an email address, the account can’t be deleted and the email address can’t be changed.

Once your account is ready, the scheduler walks you through a background questionnaire and visitor profile. Answer carefully - this information gets tied to your account when you request approval to visit someone at Allred Unit, and the system uses it to match you to your records later.

When adding the person you want to visit, double-check that you're using the correct inmate identifier (the TDCJ number or SID number). A wrong number means the scheduler may not pull up the right record - and that can stall your relationship request and block you from seeing available visit times.

After you find the inmate and select your relationship in the scheduler, submit a relationship request for approval. This request goes to the inmate's unit of assignment, where TDCJ staff verify the visitor/inmate relationship before you can schedule.

Note: Until TDCJ staff approve your relationship request at the unit, it will stay on your home page as “Pending Approval.”

Once your relationship is verified, go back to your scheduler home page. You'll see an option to schedule a visit next to the inmate's name. Choose the visit type the system offers you, then pick from the available dates and times. Don't see the date you expected? Try checking other days - what you can book depends on current availability.

If you see “Call Unit” (or no Schedule Visit button): The scheduler is telling you online scheduling isn’t available for that inmate at that moment. Call the inmate’s unit of assignment to arrange the visit.

  1. Go to the scheduler login screen - Use the same login page you normally use.
  2. Enter your email address - Type the email tied to your scheduler account.
  3. Click “Forgot Password/Reset Password” - The system will email you instructions to reset your password.
  4. Follow the emailed steps to set a new password - Complete the reset using the directions in that message.

Reminder: Once an email address is registered for a scheduler account, the account can’t be deleted and the email address can’t be changed.
