Putting Money on an Inmate Account at Johnson County: Kiosk, Online, and What Staff Won't Accept
To put money on someone's account at Johnson County Adult Detention Center, you'll need to use one of the approved deposit methods and have their six-digit CFN ready. Without the CFN, your deposit won't go through.
Every inmate gets an account when they're booked into Johnson County Adult Detention Center. You can add money to it anytime while they're in custody. The jail uses Summit for commissary and banking services, so all deposits go through the lobby kiosk or the online deposit site. You can't hand cash to a staff member at the jail.
The lobby kiosk is available at either jail location. It accepts cash or credit/debit cards, and lobby hours for deposits run from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm daily. Just follow the on-screen prompts to enter the inmate's information and complete your transaction.
- ✓ Bring (or be ready to ask for) the inmate’s six-digit Criminal File Number (CFN). Lobby staff can provide the CFN if you don’t have it.
Note: You'll need the inmate's six-digit CFN to complete the deposit. The kiosk is self-service, so don't expect to hand your payment to someone at the counter.
Can't make it to the lobby? You can deposit online at jailatm.com instead. The site is available around the clock, so you're not limited to lobby hours.
If you run into trouble with an online deposit, jailatm.com customer service can be reached at (866) 335-2734. When you call, select Option 1.
Don't show up with cash, checks, or money orders expecting to hand them to staff. They won't accept any of these for inmate account deposits, even if you're already in the lobby.
Note: Deposit fees may apply. Factor in both your deposit amount and a possible service fee when deciding how much to add.
