Putting Money on an Inmate's Account at Johnson County ADC: Kiosk, JailATM, and Phone Options
Trying to put money on someone's account at the Johnson County Adult Detention Center? You've got three options: the lobby kiosk, online through JailATM, or by phone. Here's how each one works and what you'll need.
Johnson County ADC partners with Summit for commissary and banking services. When someone is booked in, an inmate account is created automatically - that's where your deposits go. Money on the account covers everyday needs: commissary purchases, phone time, medical services, and other programs at the Detention Center. You can add funds anytime while they're in custody. No need to wait for a specific day.
Note: Johnson County ADC creates the inmate account at booking, and the commissary/banking services are provided through a partnership with Summit.
Prefer to deposit in person? There's a kiosk in the jail lobby. It accepts cash or credit/debit card and walks you through the transaction on screen.
The lobby is open daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, and that's when you can access the kiosk. Need to deposit outside those hours? The online option is your best bet.
- ✓ Know the inmate’s six-digit Criminal File Number (CFN) before you start the kiosk deposit.
- ✓ If you don’t have the CFN, you can get it from a staff member in the lobby.
Heads up: Lobby staff will not accept cash, checks, or money orders for deposit to an inmate’s account - use the kiosk instead. Deposit fees may apply.
JailATM lets you make deposits online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Helpful if you can't get to the lobby during kiosk hours.
Like the lobby kiosk, deposit fees may apply when using JailATM. The site is operated by Tech Friends, Inc. - reach out to them for billing or transaction questions.
Having trouble with an online deposit? JailATM customer service is available at (866) 335-2734 (Option 1).
You can also deposit by phone through JailATM. If staying in touch is the priority, keep in mind that account funds can be used to purchase phone time.
Note: Deposit fees may apply.
Practical Tips
- ✓ Confirm the inmate’s six-digit CFN before you start a kiosk deposit (lobby staff can provide it).
- ✓ Keep your receipt after you deposit.
Fees: The jail’s information says deposit fees may apply, but it doesn’t list the fee amounts.
Whatever you deposit goes toward the inmate's account for commissary, phone time, medical services, and other Detention Center programs. Since deposits can be made anytime during custody, pick the method that works for you - kiosk during lobby hours, or JailATM online or by phone for 24/7 access.
