Video Visits at Joliet Treatment Center: What to Know About ICSolutions

IDOC has moved video visitation from GTL to ICSolutions across its facilities (except ATCs). If you're scheduling an IDOC video visit, ICSolutions is now the system you'll use. Used GTL before? The workflow will feel different. The main thing to know: all video visit scheduling now happens through ICSolutions.

Each person in custody can have two video visits per week. This cap applies regardless of housing status - visits still count toward the same weekly limit even if your loved one moves to restrictive housing. Juggling work, school, or childcare? Keep that two-per-week limit in mind when planning. Spacing visits out gives you more flexibility than using them back-to-back.

  • No more than three approved visitors may participate per video visit for individuals in custody in general population or protective custody.

Video visits aren't scheduled between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. due to institutional count procedures. If you never see that window as an option, now you know why.

Heads up: All visits, including video visits, are subject to monitoring and recording.

  1. Set up your ICSolutions account early - don’t wait until the day you want to visit, since video visitation is now run through ICSolutions (not GTL).
  2. Keep your login details handy - you’ll need them any time you want to schedule or join a session.
  3. Use the same information every time - consistency helps avoid preventable delays when you’re trying to book a visit.

When picking a visit time, remember the daily blackout: no video visits from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. With only two visits allowed per week, schedules can feel tight. Check the calendar with that blocked time in mind so you're not scrambling for slots.

Privacy reminder: Because visits can be monitored and recorded, avoid sharing sensitive personal or legal information during a video session.
