Visitation
Jordan Unit uses the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler. You'll need to register through the official login and complete a mandatory background questionnaire during setup. Choose your account email carefully—once created, that email can't be deleted or changed. Staff can only help with updates after an account exists. The scheduler shows available visit types: Regular, Contact, and Video/Tablet. Extended or Special visit requests may also appear when offered. What you can book depends on the inmate's privileges and the unit's layout. Contact visits allow limited physical contact—one embrace/kiss at the start and one at the end, with specific hand-holding rules. Plan to follow photo ID, clothing, and contraband rules inside the secure visiting area. If the Schedule Visit button is blank or says "Call Unit," call Jordan Unit before you travel.

To receive calls from someone at Jordan Unit, register your phone number through the Texas Inmate Telephone Friends & Family Enrollment. Have the inmate's TDCJ ID ready. Phone service runs daily from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Calls are capped at 30 minutes with a one-minute disconnect warning, and most may be monitored and recorded. Jordan Unit also offers remote video visits in addition to on-site contact visits. Schedule these through the approved vendor website—you're limited to one session per month lasting up to 60 minutes. If the inmate doesn't have a tablet, digital correspondence is printed in black-and-white by the Digital Mail Processing Center. During the vendor changeover, Securus provides a free monthly 60-second call to numbers without a funded AdvanceConnect account.

Mail at Jordan Unit follows Texas's centralized digital mail process for most personal letters. Instead of going straight to the unit, accepted pages are sent to a processing center, scanned, and delivered electronically to the inmate's secure tablet. No tablet? The Digital Mail Processing Center provides black-and-white printed copies. Some categories—legal/privileged mail, media mail, and verified publications—typically go through a separate process and may ship directly to the facility. To avoid delays or rejection, address mail with the inmate's full name and ID number, include your return address, and follow page/size limits. Don't send prohibited items like cash, food, or loose stamps.
Sending Money
Sending money to an inmate at Jordan Unit starts with one key rule: only people on the inmate's Approved Visitation List or Inmate Telephone List can make deposits. Deposits from unauthorized senders won't be accepted. Cash and personal checks aren't allowed for trust fund deposits and will be returned. Plan for timing too—single deposits of $500 or more, and certain checks, may be held for 14 days before the funds are credited. Not every inmate is eligible for eCommDirect; certain custody and housing statuses are excluded. Before you pay, confirm you're an approved sender and follow the facility's accepted payment methods. If a deposit is refused or held, contact the trust fund or unit office for the reason and release timeline.
