How to Send Money to Someone at JPCC: Kiosk, Online (Forecomm), and Mail

JPCC gives you three ways to put money on someone's account: a 24-hour cash kiosk in the Intake Booking lobby, online card deposits through Forecomm, and mailed money orders. Which one works best depends on how fast you need the money to post and what payment method you have available.

Three deposit options work at JPCC. The 24-hour lobby kiosk in Intake Booking is the fastest if you have cash and can get to the facility. Prefer to pay by card? JPCC uses Forecomm Solutions for online deposits, and those post immediately too. You can also mail a money order, but expect slower processing than kiosk or online deposits.

Kiosk

  • The incarcerated person’s CCN number (so the deposit goes to the right account)
  • Cash only (the kiosk does not take credit or debit cards)
  • Any bill denominations you have, the kiosk accepts all bills

Kiosk deposits post immediately. If your loved one needs commissary funds today, the kiosk is usually the simplest same-day option. Just make sure you have the correct CCN number and cash in hand.

Tip: The lobby kiosk is cash-only. Plan ahead for how you'll carry your cash and receipt, and keep larger amounts with you rather than leaving them unattended.

Online Forecomm

JPCC accepts online deposits through Forecomm Solutions using credit and debit cards. Deposits post immediately once submitted, making this a solid choice when you need fast posting but can't get to the kiosk.

Forecomm caps online deposits at $300 per transaction and allows a maximum of 3 transactions in any seven-day period. Phone deposits aren't accepted under any circumstance, so if a payment isn't going through, you'll need to work through the website rather than calling in a card number.

Note: Forecomm can't give you the incarcerated person's account balance or activity. They can verify whether a specific deposit posted if you have the task number.

If you’re mailing money to JPCC, only money orders are accepted. Do not send cash through the mail.

Mailed money orders don't post immediately. After USPS delivery, allow 1 to 3 business days for processing before the funds show up on the account.

Do not mail cash: JPCC accepts money orders only through the mail.

Missing information is the most common hang-up. You'll need the incarcerated person's CCN number for kiosk deposits. Money orders must include the person's correct name (as incarcerated) plus the CCN number so the funds get credited to the right account.

If your Forecomm deposit gets denied, check the limits before trying again. Forecomm allows up to $300 per deposit and up to 3 transactions in any seven-day period. Using a prepaid card? Make sure you've registered an address with the card company first, or the deposit may not go through.

Calling won't help if you're trying to pay by phone. Forecomm doesn't accept phone deposits under any circumstance. They also can't provide account balances or activity, but they can verify whether a deposit posted if you have the task number.

Start with timing expectations. Kiosk deposits post immediately. Forecomm online deposits also post immediately. Mailed money orders are different: expect 1 to 3 business days for processing after USPS delivery before the funds appear.

Need confirmation on an online deposit? Keep your deposit task number. Forecomm can verify that a specific deposit posted when you provide that number, but they can't tell you the incarcerated person's balance or review account activity.

For card deposits, Forecomm Solutions handles the transaction. That makes them the right contact for online deposit verification (with your task number).
