Before Your First Visit to Keen Mountain: What to Bring and What to Leave Behind
Planning ahead makes your first visit much easier. Bring the right ID, dress within facility rules, and know what to expect at screening. This checklist helps you avoid getting turned away at the door.
ID 1
- ✓ Arrive one hour before your scheduled visit so you have enough time for security screening.
- ✓ Leave all food and drinks behind - they aren’t allowed inside, and there’s no access to vending machines.
Bring at least one valid photo ID that matches your visitation application exactly. If the name or details don't line up, you could be delayed or turned away. Accepted IDs include a driver's license, military ID, or another official picture ID from a federal or state agency. Passports work too, but only for visitors who don't reside in the United States.
Dress like you're aiming for "no questions asked." Your clothing needs to cover from your neck to your kneecaps - no exposed shoulders or torso, and nothing that rides up to or above the knee. Some items are specifically banned: tube tops, tank tops, halter tops, anything showing your midriff, sides, or back. Mini-skirts, mini-dresses, shorts, skorts, and culottes are out if they hit at or above the kneecap. Fit and fabric matter too. Form-fitting clothes like leotards, spandex, and leggings can get flagged. Same goes for see-through material, revealing necklines, or excessive splits. And don't wear anything resembling offender clothing.
Note: If staff consider your outfit inappropriate, you'll be sent to the administrative duty officer - and they make the final call on whether you enter the visiting room.
