Before Your First Visit to ASPC La Palma: Registration, ID Requirements, and What to Expect

Plan on registering as soon as you enter the facility. Registration is required for all visitors, so build in a little extra time for the check-in process before your visit actually starts.

Need to arrange a special visit? Start the request yourself at least one week in advance by emailing CAFCCVisitation@corecivic.com. Include the proposed date and time, your reason for the request, and the detainee's name and number. You'll also need to provide proof of residency - send a scanned copy of a valid ID like a driver's license or passport. If approved, bring that same ID to the Lobby Office on the day of your visit.

Acceptable IDs

  • Driver’s license (current photo ID)
  • Passport (current photo ID)
  • Military ID card (current photo ID)
  • Other government-issued identification (current photo ID)
  • If you requested a special visit: bring the same corresponding ID you submitted as proof of residency (the Lobby Office will expect it)

For USMS inmates, up to three visitors can be present at one time for Visitation 1, 2, 3, and 4. That's the total group size allowed - plan your ride and headcount accordingly.

Visiting an ICE detainee? The limit is two adults and two children at one time. If you're coming as a family group, count heads before you leave home so no one gets stuck waiting outside.

Note: Visitor limits can be reduced based on space availability. If you’re close to the maximum, arriving early can help your group avoid issues at check-in.

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult - minors can't enter alone. If a child is coming without their parent or legal guardian, you'll need two documents or risk being turned away: a notarized letter from the parent or legal guardian, plus the minor's birth certificate.

Before Your First Visit to ASPC La Palma: Registration, ID Requirements, and What to Expect
  1. Arrive with extra time - registration is required for all visitors, and check-in takes time.
  2. Have your current photo ID ready - if you’re 18 or older, you’ll need a valid government-issued photo ID (like a driver’s license, passport, or military ID) at check-in.
  3. Register when you enter - you’ll complete the facility’s registration process before you can visit.
  4. Keep your group within the limit - USMS visits allow up to three visitors; ICE visits allow up to two adults and two children.
  5. Expect space to affect entry - even within the limits, the facility may restrict numbers based on available space.
