Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) video visitation has moved from GTL to ICSolutions at all IDOC facilities except ATCs. If you want to set up a video visit with someone in IDOC custody, start by registering with ICSolutions. You'll use that account to schedule visits - the prison doesn't handle this directly.

Don’t call the facility to schedule: Video visits are scheduled through the ICSolutions website, not by facility staff.

Head to the official ICSolutions registration page for IDOC video visits to create your account. Confirm your email and finish any setup steps before trying to schedule - most booking problems trace back to incomplete accounts. Since all IDOC facilities (except ATCs) now use ICSolutions, this account is your gateway to getting a visit on the calendar.

Plan ahead. IDOC requires video visits to be scheduled at least seven days in advance - the system won't let you book anything sooner. Check your calendar and aim for dates a week or more out. That buffer also gives you flexibility if your first-choice time slot is taken.

Count blackout window: No video visits will be scheduled between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. due to institutional count procedures.
