How to Schedule Your First In‑Person Visit at Lawrence Correctional Center

Booking an in-person visit at Lawrence starts with IDOC's SignUpGenius system, where you'll reserve your time slot online. First-time visitor? Plan to complete the Prospective Visitor's Interview (PVI, DOC 0148) ahead of time so you're not stuck doing extra paperwork at the door. On visit day, bring two forms of ID. One must be a current state-issued photo ID.

Lawrence Correctional Center uses IDOC's SignUpGenius system for all in-person visit scheduling. Pick an available slot through the online scheduler. Don't try to set up a visit by phone.

1. Open the IDOC SignUpGenius scheduler and choose a time slot - once you select an available visit time, complete the online signup to lock it in.

• ✓ Confirm you are on the incarcerated person’s approved visitation list (unless you are a legal visitor or government official).
• ✓ If you are not sure you are approved, write the incarcerated person to ask.
• ✓ Do not rely on calling the facility for list status, IDOC staff cannot tell you by phone whether you are on someone’s visitation list.

Even with a confirmed visit on the schedule, the Chief Administrative Officer can deny, suspend, or restrict your visiting privileges. Reasons include security or safety concerns, limited space, disruptive conduct, abuse of visiting privileges, or violations of state, federal, or departmental rules by either the visitor or the incarcerated person.
