Illinois Department of Corrections facilities - including Lawrence Correctional Center - switched video visitation from GTL to ICSolutions (Adult Transition Centers are the exception). For offsite video visits, you'll register and manage everything through ICSolutions.

  1. Register with ICSolutions - You’ll need an ICSolutions visitor account before you can schedule video visits with someone in IDOC custody.
  2. Follow the official registration prompts - Create your login and complete the required registration details so your account is ready for scheduling.
  3. Make sure your account is set up for video visitation - Once you’re registered, use that account for scheduling and managing video visits.

  • ✓ Download and install the ICSolutions app on the device you plan to use (Android, iOS/Apple, or Windows)
  • ✓ Sign in with the ICSolutions account you created
  • ✓ Run the required app test on your device before your visit (audio/video)
  • ✓ Confirm your camera and microphone work during the test and that your internet connection is stable

Note: ICSolutions requires you to download and test the visitation application on your device before you’ll be able to join a video visit.

Know the visit limits before you schedule - it'll save you from booking slots that won't be allowed. Someone in custody can have one video visit per day, and two per week total. If they're in restrictive housing, video visits still count against that same weekly limit. There's also a cap on participants. For people in general population or protective custody, no more than three approved visitors can join a single video visit. If several family members want to be there, plan around that limit.

Once you're registered with ICSolutions, you'll schedule your visit and join at the scheduled time through your visitor setup. If something goes wrong, check ICSolutions' help section and the platform-specific instructions for your device - better to troubleshoot early than scramble at the last minute.
