Visiting Someone in Reception at Lebanon Corrections: What’s Different

Visits work differently when someone is in reception at Lebanon's reception center (C.R.C.). The two biggest changes: no visits during the first eight days, and each approved visitor is limited to two visiting sessions per calendar month.

If your person is still in reception, expect a built-in delay. Reception incarcerated people cannot receive visits during their first eight (8) days at the reception center (C.R.C.).

Tip: Count eight days from when they arrived at C.R.C. before making the trip. Otherwise, you could show up and get turned away at the door.

Even after the eight-day waiting period, reception visits are limited. Each approved visitor may have two (2) visiting sessions per calendar month with a person in reception. This limit applies per visitor, so multiple approved people can each visit twice.

Reception also has a courtesy visit rule. Each reception incarcerated person is allowed one (1) courtesy visit for immediate family and one (1) courtesy visit for a support person. If you're coordinating who goes first, decide ahead of time whether that courtesy visit is best used by immediate family or by a designated support person.

Note: If the support person is also putting money on the incarcerated person's account, that person must be fully approved before visiting.

Group size is capped during reception visits. No more than five (5) visitors, including walking children, may visit a reception incarcerated person at one time.

First Visit Docs and Approval

  • Completed Visitor Application (DRC2096)
  • Signed Declaration of Understanding (DRC2554)
  • Signed General Visiting Instructions (DRC2274)
  • Copy of bona fide identification
  • A legible copy of a photo ID included with the visitor application
  1. Submit your visiting application paperwork - make sure your packet includes the required forms and a legible photo ID copy.
  2. Wait 10 to 14 business days - this is the window given for processing before you follow up.
  3. Call the facility to verify approval - call ten to fourteen (10–14) business days after submission to confirm whether the application was approved before you travel (evidence_item_id: 84b478191a1bf92b).

Reminder: You'll need to include a clear, readable photo ID copy with your visitor application. I recommend calling 10 to 14 business days after you submit to confirm you're approved before making the trip.
