How to Mail (and Track) Letters & Photos to Someone at Licking County Justice Center
Mail at Licking County Justice Center goes through Smart Communications. Using the right address format—and following photo and content rules—is the difference between delivered and returned.
Send letters, cards, and photos to Smart Communications - not the jail's street address. Here's the format: Smart Communications / Licking Co Jus Ctr, then the inmate's full name and booking/ID number, followed by PO Box 9160, Seminole, FL 33775-9137. Print the name and booking/ID number clearly on the outside of the envelope or postcard. That's how mail gets routed to the right person.
Every piece of mail needs a complete return address: your first and last name, street address (or P.O. Box), city, and ZIP code. This meets the jail's requirements and ensures mail can be returned to you if there's an issue.
No return address = no delivery: If you leave the return address off, the mail will be returned to the post office.
Size Prohibitions
- ✓ Keep cards and photos at 5" x 7" or smaller.
- ✓ Don’t send Polaroids.
- ✓ Don’t send nude or partially nude photos.
- ✓ Don’t mail packages - packages aren’t allowed for inmates.
- ✓ No tobacco products.
- ✓ No pornography or suggestive materials.
- ✓ No books, magazines, or periodicals.
- ✓ No mail with removable mechanisms, batteries, metal, or other non-permitted materials (for example, musical cards).
- ✓ No cash or checks.
Legal mail is handled differently: Legal mail, court documents, and publications should be sent directly to the facility. Other mail sent to the facility (instead of the Smart Communications address) will be returned to the sender.
