Onsite vs. Offsite Video Visits at Licking County Justice Center: Which to Choose

At Licking County Justice Center, both visit types are video visits - scheduled through the Licking County Sheriff's Office policies. You'll register (free) through ICSolutions. The only real difference? Where you're sitting. Onsite means you come to the jail and use their visitation setup. Offsite means you connect remotely from wherever you are.

Keep in mind: Onsite visitors stay in the lobby and visitation area only - you won't go anywhere else in the facility. All video visits are subject to audio/video monitoring and recording.

Plan ahead for either option. Visits must be scheduled at least 12 hours in advance, and you can book up to two weeks out. Each session lasts 30 minutes, so pick a time when you can be settled and ready to start right away.

Onsite video visitation runs Wednesday through Sunday, with time blocks like 08:15–10:45, 11:15–15:45, and 16:15–17:15. Offsite visits are available every day (Monday through Sunday) and include those daytime blocks plus evening hours - one block runs 17:45–22:00. If you work standard hours or juggle school and childcare, those later offsite slots can be a lifesaver.

Timing warning: You (or the inmate) can be up to 25 minutes late before the visit counts as missed - but the clock doesn't reset. Show up 25 minutes late, and you'll have just 5 minutes left.

Weekly limits are the biggest difference between the two. Onsite visits are capped at one per inmate per week. Offsite visits? Unlimited. That makes offsite the clear choice if you want to check in more than once or coordinate visits with multiple family members.

Onsite vs. Offsite Video Visits at Licking County Justice Center: Which to Choose

Choose Option

  • Choose onsite if you can get to the facility during the Wednesday–Sunday schedule windows (for example, 08:15–10:45, 11:15–15:45, or 16:15–17:15) and you’re okay with the one onsite visit per week limit.
  • Choose offsite if you want more frequent check-ins (offsite visits are unlimited per week) or you need daily availability, including later evening blocks (for example, a window that runs until 22:00).
  • No matter which you pick, plan around the 12-hour minimum scheduling rule (and the ability to book up to two weeks ahead).
  • Remember every visit is 30 minutes, so it’s worth picking a time when you can be uninterrupted and ready to start right away.

Planning to bring family? Up to two adults and two children can visit at one time - infants count toward that total. Only the primary visitor needs to register through ICSolutions. Minors 16 or older can register and visit on their own.
