How phone calls work at Lincoln Correctional Center: payment options, rates, and the caller ID number to expect

You have two ways to pay for calls from Lincoln Correctional Center, and the right choice depends on how you prefer to manage costs. One option is to create and fund an ICSolutions Friends & Family prepaid account, which is set up so you can pay for calls you receive. The other option is to add money to the incarcerated person’s trust account; they can then use those funds to purchase phone minutes through commissary.

Under IDOC’s ICSolutions rate, domestic calls cost $0.008 per minute. That’s less than a penny a minute, so a 15-minute call would be about 12 cents, and a 30-minute call would be about 24 cents.

People in custody at IDOC facilities can’t receive incoming phone calls. Instead, they place outgoing calls to numbers on their approved calling list. If you want them to be able to call you, you’ll need to write them and ask to be added to that approved list.

IDOC began transitioning phone service from Securus to ICSolutions on a facility-by-facility basis starting as early as February 3, 2025. Each facility’s switch can take about two weeks, so the timing can look different depending on where your loved one is housed.
