What to Bring (and What to Leave Home) for a Kane County Justice Center Visit
A little prep before you leave the house can save you a wasted trip. This guide covers what ID and documents to bring—and what to leave behind.
Every adult visitor needs a valid, government-issued photo ID to check in at the Kane County Justice Center. A driver's license or state ID card works. Just make sure it's in your pocket before you head out.
Note: Staff may ask for proof of your relationship to the detainee. Bring any legal documents that apply to your situation.
Bringing a child? Plan ahead. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and you'll need a copy of the child's birth certificate.
Tip: Having paperwork that proves the child's relationship to the detainee can prevent delays at check-in.
