How to Schedule Your First Visit at Little Sandy Correctional Complex

You're responsible for scheduling visits at Little Sandy Correctional Complex - don't plan to just show up. Visits must be scheduled in advance by contacting the facility, and each inmate is limited to four in-person visits per month. Appointment slots can fill up, so plan ahead.

Visits at LSCC last two hours. Pick a date and time that fits your loved one's unit visiting window and gives you the full two hours without running into count time.

In-person visiting hours run 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and approved holidays - but exact times depend on your loved one's housing unit. One thing to watch: no one can enter or exit during count time (approximately 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.), so don't schedule a start or end time that overlaps with that window.

General Population visits are Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Minimum Security Unit (MSU) visits are Saturday and Sunday, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Administrative Special Management Unit (SMU) visits are Sunday only, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Disciplinary Special Management Unit (SMU) visits are Saturday only, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

When you call to schedule, the key detail is your loved one's housing unit. LSCC handles scheduling through unit secretaries, so you'll need to reach the right person. If you're unsure who that is, ask to confirm which unit secretary handles scheduling for your loved one's housing assignment.

For inmates in the GA Housing Unit, contact Unit Secretary Haley Riggs at (606) 738-6133, ext. 1614. If your loved one is in a different unit, call LSCC and ask for the correct unit secretary and extension before locking in a date.

How to Schedule Your First Visit at Little Sandy Correctional Complex

Scheduling isn't just picking a time - your visit also needs approval before you arrive. With the four-visit monthly limit, make sure you get a clear confirmation on your appointment details before making the drive.

  1. Write down your confirmed appointment details - keep the date, time, and the unit contact you spoke with so you can reference it if there’s any confusion at check-in.
  2. Show up for the approved visit time - LSCC requires visits to be scheduled and approved before visiting, so treat your appointment time as firm.
  3. Bring the right identification - you’ll need the required ID at check-in, and missing ID can stop the visit even if you scheduled it.

ID required: Adults must have a valid photo ID. Children must have two forms of identification.

Count time timing: No one is admitted or allowed to exit during count time (approximately 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.). Schedule and plan your arrival so you’re not trying to enter or leave during that window.

Having trouble getting scheduled? Ask to speak with the unit secretary for your loved one's housing unit. If that doesn't resolve things, request a supervisor. Keep notes on who you spoke with (name, date, time, extension) so you don't have to start over each call.
