Sending Money to Someone at Angola: JPay Money Orders, Mailing Address, Limits, and Processing Times
Sending money to someone at Angola by mail? The details matter. Use a JPay money order, fill out the Louisiana Money Order Deposit Slip completely, and mail everything to the correct PO Box so it posts without avoidable delays.
Make your money order payable to "JPay." If the payee line says anything else, it can be rejected or held up. Double-check before you seal the envelope.
- ✓ Write the incarcerated person’s name and ID number on the money order (the memo or “used for” line).
- ✓ Fill out every field on the Louisiana Money Order Deposit Slip, and make sure everything is complete and easy to read.
- ✓ Include a valid email address and a mailing address on the deposit form. Money orders are not processed without both.
- ✓ Use a U.S. Postal Service money order (this is the recommended type).
Note: Do not include letters or notes with your money order payment. Anything like that sent with the payment will be discarded.
Mail your JPay money order and the completed Louisiana Money Order Deposit Slip to: JPay, PO Box 531370, Miami Shores, FL 33153.
On the money order itself, write the incarcerated person's name and ID number on the memo line (sometimes labeled "used for"). This helps the payment get matched to the right trust account.
The deposit form also requires your contact information. JPay won't process the money order unless you include a valid email address and mailing address on the deposit slip.
A single money order can be up to $999.99, according to the Louisiana Money Order Deposit Slip.
Heads up: Money orders over $500 are subject to Louisiana Department of Corrections approval. That approval step can delay when the money posts to your loved one’s account.
JPay processes approved money orders within ten (10) business days after receiving them.
If you have questions about a money order or need help completing the form, call JPay at 800-574-5729.
Don't try to send packages, publications, greeting cards, or postcards directly to someone in prison. All packages must be ordered through the approved vendor, Union Supply Direct.
