What You Can and Can't Bring to Manchester FCI Visiting Hours (Checklist)
A smooth visit at Manchester FCI comes down to two things: showing up on the right day with the right ID, and leaving the wrong items at home.
Before you head out, confirm the inmate is currently at Manchester FCI and double-check the visiting schedule. People get transferred between facilities, and old information can throw off your plans. Also make sure you are on the inmate's approved visiting list. You cannot visit unless the inmate has added you and the facility has approved you.
Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID for check-in. You will also need to complete the Bureau of Prisons visitor information form (BP-A0629). The form asks for your legal name, date of birth, address and phone number, race/sex, citizenship and SSN (or alien registration or passport number), your relationship to the inmate, and questions about conviction or supervision history.
Prohibited Items
- ✓ Weapons
- ✓ Explosives
- ✓ Drugs
- ✓ Intoxicants
- ✓ Currency
- ✓ Cameras of any type
- ✓ Recording equipment
- ✓ Telephones
- ✓ Radios
- ✓ Pagers
- ✓ Other electronic devices
Bring it and you may lose the visit. Prohibited items can be confiscated or get you turned away. Leave them at home or secured off-site.
Dress conservatively. Under BOP guidance, provocative or revealing clothing can get you denied entry, even if everything else checks out. Not sure about an outfit? Go with the more covered-up option so you do not risk getting turned away at the door.
- ✓ Prefer: conservative, non-revealing clothing that would fit in a family setting with men, women, and children present
- ✓ Avoid: provocative or revealing clothing (anything you would describe as “club wear,” “beach wear,” or overly see-through)
By entering Manchester FCI grounds, you consent to being searched along with your belongings. This is standard BOP policy under 28 C.F.R. Part 511. Expect screening as part of normal entry, and keep your property simple so it is easy to check.
Time-saver: Do a quick pocket and bag check before you walk up. The fewer items you bring, the faster screening goes.
