How to Register for GTL (ViaPath) to Schedule Visits, and How to Pay for a Damaged Tablet

Once you're an approved visitor, two common next steps remain: registering in the GTL (ViaPath) system so you can reserve visits, and (in some cases) sending payment to cover a damaged tablet.

Getting approved to visit and having a visit scheduled are two different things. After your visitor application is approved, you still need to register with GTL (ViaPath) at www.gtlvisitme.com. That's the portal where you sign in, find the incarcerated person, and reserve an available visiting time.

Note: Approval is step one. Registering at www.gtlvisitme.com is what actually lets you reserve a visit.

  1. Go to www.gtlvisitme.com - This is the GTL (ViaPath) visitation scheduling portal you will use after you are approved.
  2. Create your account (or sign in) - Use your information to set up access so you can schedule and manage upcoming visits.
  3. Confirm you are scheduling as an approved visitor - The portal is used to reserve visits after approval.
  4. Search for the incarcerated person - Use their details to pull up the correct profile for scheduling.
  5. Choose an available visit time and reserve it - Scheduling through the portal is how you lock in a time instead of showing up without a reservation.
  6. Review your reservation details - Double-check what you selected before you finalize and again after it is booked.

Tip: When you search, use the incarcerated person’s full name and verify you have the right person before you reserve a time.

Pay Damaged Tablet

  • Send a money order or cashier’s check only (no other payment types are accepted).
  • Make it a full payment of $250.00 in U.S. dollars.
  • Make the payment payable to “ViaPath Technologies”.
  • Include the required deposit/payment slip with your payment.
  • Mail the payment and slip to ViaPath’s PO Box in Houston, using the address shown on the payment form.

Tablet repair payments go through ViaPath (GTL), so every detail on your payment needs to match what their form requires. Use an accepted payment type (money order or cashier's check), make it out to "ViaPath Technologies," and include the deposit/payment slip so the payment gets credited correctly. The amount matters too. You need to send the full $250.00 in U.S. dollars. A different amount or wrong payment method can delay processing, and the payment may not be accepted at all.

Practical Tips

  • If you are trying to schedule a visit, register first at www.gtlvisitme.com, then reserve your time in the portal.
  • When scheduling, double-check you selected the correct incarcerated person before you book a time.
  • For a tablet repair payment, use only a money order or cashier’s check.
  • Make the payment payable to “ViaPath Technologies” (payee errors are a common reason payments get kicked back).
  • Include the deposit/payment slip, and mail it to the ViaPath PO Box in Houston listed on the form.

Warning: The tablet repair payment must be a full $250.00, issued in U.S. dollars.

Even with the GTL (ViaPath) portal handling reservations, Mansfield Correctional Institution sets its own local visiting details. The managing officer has discretion over things like how many visitors are allowed, visit frequency, visit length, visit priority, and visiting hours.

Visiting rules can change, especially when the institution adjusts operations. Any significant change to local visiting guidelines must be posted at the institution and made available for visitors and incarcerated people to review at least 30 days before it takes effect. Before you plan a trip, confirm you're looking at the current schedule and rules.
