What to Wear (and What Not to Wear) When Visiting Marion C.I.
Marion C.I. is strict about clothing that shows skin through the fabric. See-through items, ripped or torn jeans, or anything with holes where skin is visible can get you turned away. Another rule that surprises people: you can’t carry extra clothing into the visit, so plan your layers before you arrive.
Marion C.I. doesn't allow revealing tops. Halter tops, tube tops, cropped tops, tank tops, and muscle shirts are all off-limits. When in doubt, go with something more covered - it'll make check-in easier.
Hemlines matter. Skirts, dresses, skorts, shorts, and culottes can't have a hem or split above mid-knee. Here's a quick test: if the bottom edge rises above mid-knee when you sit or walk, pick something longer.
Appropriate undergarments are required - bra, slip, and underwear.
Whatever you wear into Marion C.I., you'll keep on for the entire visit. The one exception is outerwear like coats and gloves. Don't plan on bringing an extra sweater or change of clothes - you can't carry additional clothing into the visiting area.

Do a quick metal check before you leave. Underwire bras, lots of jewelry, and clothing with multiple zippers can all set off detectors at Marion C.I. That means delays at entry - and less time with your loved one.
