What to Bring (and What to Leave Behind) for McCracken County Jail Visits
A smooth visit comes down to one thing: showing up with the right basics and leaving everything else behind. Here's what you need to know to avoid being turned away at the door.
Bring a valid photo ID. When you arrive at McCracken County Jail, staff will check your identification and have you sign in before you can visit.
Warning: If you appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or you’re loud or unruly, you can be told to leave - and you may be arrested.
Leave your cell phone and any cameras at home or locked in your car. McCracken County Jail doesn't allow either into the visitation area.
Skip the snacks and drinks - they're not allowed in visitation.
Don't bring any weapons to the jail, concealed or otherwise. You'll be denied entry and could face serious consequences.
If you’re bringing a child or teen, plan accordingly: anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to visit.
Keep your group small. Only two adults can visit an inmate at a time.
