Scheduling Video Visits at McHenry County Jail: On-Site and Off-Site Options and What to Bring

Both on-site and off-site video visits at McHenry County Jail come with a fee. If this is your first visit, decide which option works best for you before scheduling - it'll help you pick the right time and get your setup ready.

The main difference comes down to timing and access. Visits depend on kiosk availability and the facility's daily schedule, so you may not get your preferred time slot. Once you've booked, log in right at your assigned time. Miss the start, and you could lose the visit entirely.

Note: All video visits are recorded and may be monitored.

Scheduling Video Visits at McHenry County Jail: On-Site and Off-Site Options and What to Bring

Every video visit at McHenry County Jail must be scheduled in advance. Walk-ins aren't an option - you'll need to book your visit before you plan to connect.

  1. Pick a time that’s actually available - Visit times can be limited by visitation kiosk availability and the facility’s daily schedules and needs.
  2. Log in at the exact scheduled time - You must log in to the visitation kiosk at the time of the scheduled visit, so plan to be ready a few minutes early.

Heads up: Visiting hours can change. Visits may be cancelled for severe weather or emergencies, and won't happen during meal hours or lockdowns (including maintenance, facility needs, or disturbances).

  • On-site video visitation is restricted to 2 visitors per visit.
  • On-site visitors must be 17 years of age or accompanied by an adult with a valid picture I.D.

Stay calm and respectful during your session. Disruptive behavior from either party can end the visit immediately - and may affect your ability to schedule future visits.

Video visiting hours run Sunday through Saturday in four daily windows: 9:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m. These hours apply to both on-site and off-site visits. Keep in mind that actual availability still depends on kiosk openings and the jail's schedule for that day.

For on-site video visits, you’ll go to the McHenry County Correctional Facility at 2200 N. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock, IL 60098. The main phone number is (815) 338-2144.

Reminder: Hours can change. Visits may be cancelled for severe weather or emergencies, and won't happen during meal hours or lockdowns.

Expect a cost either way - both on-site and off-site video visits come with a fee. If you're planning regular contact, budget for video visits as a paid service, not a free perk.

Need a refund? You'll have to go through the video visitation company, not the jail. McHenry County Jail doesn't issue refunds - any request has to be handled by the provider that runs the system.
