What to bring and expect for your first on-site video visit at Miami County Incarceration Facility

On-site video visits take place at the Miami County Incarceration Facility, 2042 N CR 25A, Troy, Ohio 45373. The on-site option is free for both visitors and inmates, so you won't need to bring money for the visit itself.

On-site video visitation runs Monday through Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM, including holidays. You still need an appointment - these are just the hours the system operates, not a walk-in window.

All visits require an appointment. Before you can schedule, you'll need to create an ICSolutions account and get approved - this includes providing a valid government-issued photo ID.

Plan to arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled start time. If you show up late, the appointment time will still be held, but your visit won’t be extended past the original scheduled end time - so late arrival means less time together.

Up to four visitors can join an on-site video visit at once, and that count includes children. If more people want to participate, you'll need to take turns rather than bringing everyone together.

You're limited to one 30-minute on-site visit per week. Keep that in mind when picking your appointment time around work or school schedules.

Dress matters. Staff can deny your video visit if clothing is considered inappropriate - specifically, see-through clothing, low-cut tops that expose the chest, or anything that shows undergarments. Nudity or sexual conduct during any visit can result in loss or suspension of visitation privileges.

Keep your voice and behavior calm during the visit. Loud talking, excessive emotionalism, or disruptive behavior can end your visit early. If staff believe you're under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you won't be allowed to complete the visit. Consuming alcohol or drugs during the visit is prohibited.

Recording rule: All video visits are recorded and may be monitored. Don't try to record or duplicate the visit with cameras, video devices, telecommunications equipment, or recording devices.

Don't bring items expecting to hand them over. No property will be accepted for inmates at visitation.

Want to send reading material? Paperback books are accepted by mail only (shipped from Amazon, for example) and must include a receipt. The jail reviews and searches all books, and they become property of the jail library when the inmate is released. Books with staples aren't allowed. Personal mail goes through the ICSolutions Digital Mail Center, where it's scanned and made available on tablets for inmates to view.
