How to schedule a video visit at Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility (MSDF)

To schedule a video visit at Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility (MSDF), you'll use ICSolutions. You can book through the ICSolutions website or by calling 1-888-506-8407. MSDF staff don't handle video visit scheduling, so everything goes through ICSolutions.

Before you can schedule, you'll need a Party ID. This is a unique ID tied to the person in your care (PIOC) and their approved visitors. You need it on a registered ICSolutions account to book MSDF video visits. The PIOC is responsible for giving their approved visitors the correct Party ID, so ask your loved one for it and enter it exactly as provided. Even small mismatches (a missing digit, a slightly different name spelling) can block you from linking your account and booking a visit.

1. Get the Party ID from your loved one. The PIOC must provide their approved visitors with the specific Party ID needed to register and schedule.
2. Start your ICSolutions registration. Use the ICSolutions website or schedule by phone at 1-888-506-8407 (MSDF staff do not schedule video visits).
3. Create your account. Follow the prompts to set up your visitor profile.
4. Link the Party ID to your account. Enter the Party ID exactly as the PIOC gave it to you.
5. Double-check your name details. Make sure the visitor name on your account matches what the PIOC has on their approved visiting list, including spelling.
6. Schedule your visit. Once your account is set up and linked, choose an available appointment time through ICSolutions.

MSDF video visits have a scheduling window: no less than 48 hours in advance, and no more than four weeks (28 days) out. Try to book outside that range and the system won't let you.

Visit availability depends on the schedule and open video units. Each PIOC at MSDF can have up to three 26-minute video visits per day, seven days a week. If the time slot you want isn't showing up, those units are likely already booked for that day.

Using one of MSDF's onsite lobby video units? Arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled visit. That buffer gives you time to check in and get connected so your visit starts on time.

At the start of each ICS visit, you'll be prompted to acknowledge the visit rules electronically. Take that step seriously. Any visit can be terminated if DOC or facility rules are violated. If you want the full time with your loved one, stay within the rules from start to finish.
