Using MSDF’s onsite video visit station: what to bring and what to expect
MSDF's onsite lobby video visit units are pretty straightforward. Show up with the right ID, give yourself enough time to check in, and you're good to go.
ID Requirements
- ✓ A current State of Wisconsin Driver’s License
- ✓ A current State of Wisconsin picture identification card
- ✓ A current passport
- ✓ Your ID must be current. Expired IDs are not accepted (this applies to all adult visitors, including minors age 16 or older).
Note: MSDF does not make exceptions for expired identification. If you cannot present a current, acceptable photo ID at check-in, your visit will be denied.
Plan to arrive at MSDF at least 20 minutes before your scheduled onsite video visit. That buffer covers check-in processing and gives the video system time to connect. Show up too close to your start time and you risk losing your slot entirely.
You'll go through a metal-detector screening at check-in before using the onsite lobby video units. Factor that into your timing, especially if other visitors are arriving at the same time.
Show up without a current, acceptable photo ID and you won't be allowed to visit. This includes expired IDs. MSDF requires valid identification for all adult visitors, and that applies to minors age 16 or older as well.
- Reschedule through ICSolutions. MSDF staff do not schedule video visits, so you will need to use ICSolutions (or call 1-888-506-8407).
- Check the scheduling window. You can schedule a video visit no less than 48 hours and no more than 4 weeks in advance.
- Pick a new time that gives you room to arrive early. Once you have a new appointment, plan to be at MSDF at least 20 minutes before the scheduled start time.
