How to Send Money to Someone at MECC: JPay, Mail Deposits, and What to Know
Want to put money on someone's account at Missouri Eastern Corrections Center (MECC)? You've got two options: send it electronically through JPay, or mail in a money order or cashier's check. Here's how each method works—and what to avoid so your deposit doesn't get held up.
JPay is the approved electronic option for adding funds at MECC. The money goes into the offender's account, where they can use it for commissary purchases and other approved needs.
JPay lets you handle everything remotely - no mailing required. You can deposit through their website or smartphone app, which is handy when you need to send money fast.
Prefer to mail your deposit? Send a money order or cashier's check made payable to the Missouri Department of Corrections. Include a Department of Corrections deposit slip - that's what links the payment to the right person's account.
Send mail deposits to: Offender Finance Office Missouri Department of Corrections P.O. Box 1609 Jefferson City, MO 65102
Warning: Do not send personal mail, cards, stamps, or photographs to the Offender Finance Office deposit address. That office processes money transactions only.
Mail deposits typically post within 1–3 business days after the Offender Finance Office receives them. If you're sending funds right before a weekend or holiday, give yourself extra time.
