Monroe County Jail uses CIDNET for video visits, messages, and phone calls. You'll need your own CIDNET account to use these options. Your loved one can also make calls the traditional way from the phone in their housing area, either by buying phone cards or placing collect calls.

Quick reminder: If CIDNET isn't working out right away, your loved one may still be able to reach you using a phone card or by placing a collect call from the phone in their housing area.

  1. Create your CIDNET account - You cannot use CIDNET video visits, messages, or CIDNET phone calls until you register for an account.
  2. Complete any verification prompts - Follow the CIDNET registration flow, including agreeing to the terms and completing any email confirmation steps you are prompted to do.
  3. Purchase CIDNET data - CIDNET services require a paid data balance.
  4. Use CIDNET features knowing data is consumed - Your data balance is used up when you communicate, whether that is video, voice, or messaging.

Tip: Your CIDNET balance gets used up when you communicate. Top up before a scheduled video visit or when you're expecting a call.

If you get a call from (888) 984-1903, it usually means an inmate is trying to start a CIDNET voice cue with you. You can only accept the call if you've already purchased CIDNET data. That same number doubles as the support line. Call 888-984-1903 if you're having trouble with your account or balance.

Important: A call from 888-984-1903 may be a CIDNET voice cue attempt. If you don't have CIDNET data available, you won't be able to accept the call.

CIDNET handles Link Requests, but the jail makes the approval decision. Monroe County Jail decides whether to approve or decline a link between you and an inmate. If you're stuck waiting, follow up with the jail directly about the approval status.

Phone conversations at Monroe County Jail may be monitored at any time. Don't assume your calls are private.

Contacts Tips

  • Call CIDNET support at 888-984-1903 for help with your CIDNET account or CIDNET data issues.
  • Contact Monroe County Jail for Link Request approval decisions, since the facility (not CIDNET) approves or declines links.
  • Buy CIDNET data before you expect to message, talk, or join a video visit, because your data balance is consumed when you communicate.

If your Link Request isn't going through: CIDNET can't override approvals. Contact Monroe County Jail directly for anything related to link status.
